About Geofix

PT Geo Fix Indonesia (Geofix) is a national company engaged in mineral exploration services, particularly gold, established in 2016. Headquartered in Jakarta, Geofix manages several mining sites in South Sulawesi, including Awakmas and Luhu. Currently, Geofix has around 30 employees at its head office and more than 100 field employees, with a total workforce of 160–200 people.

Challenges in the HR management 

Before using Mekari Talenta, HR administration at Geofix was still handled manually. Payroll, attendance, and reimbursements relied on physical documents and Excel, making workflows slow and prone to errors. Some of the key challenges included:

  • Time-consuming payroll process
    Salary calculations based on fingerprints and timesheets could take up to two weeks. Payments were often delayed when they coincided with bank holidays.
  • Complex reimbursement and leave requests
    All requests had to be submitted through paper forms (POM forms), which were collected manually, often delaying approvals.
  • Scattered and hard-to-access employee data
    Employee information was still stored in Excel and physical folders, making it difficult for HR to quickly find data when needed.
  • Limited internal communication
    HR could only send memos to supervisors to be forwarded to their teams. As a result, not all employees received information at the same time.
  • Lack of HR reports and insights
    Important data such as turnover could not be presented quickly in structured reports.
  • Barriers to digital adoption in the field
    Limited internet access at mining sites and senior employees unfamiliar with digital applications posed additional challenges for transformation.

To address these challenges, Geofix began adopting Mekari Talenta as a centralized HR management system. Payroll processes now run faster and more accurately thanks to automation, reducing the processing time from two weeks to just 3–4 days, along with many other benefits.
