What are the components and how is severance pay calculated?

Basic Salary

This is the main component of an employee’s salary and also serves as the basis for calculating other components. For example: 12% of base salary is usually the loan limit for employees.

Years of Service

Less than 1 year: 1 month’s salary
1–2 years: 2 months’ salary
2–3 years: 3 months’ salary
3–4 years: 4 months’ salary
More than 4 years: Add 1 month’s salary for each additional year of service

Long Service Award

3–6 years: 2 months’ salary
6–9 years: 3 months’ salary
9–12 years: 4 months’ salary

2 years or more: 5 months’ salary

Compensation for Rights

– Unused annual leave that has not expired
– Return travel costs for the worker and their family to the place where they were originally hired
